Course Overview
Dr. Rick Mitchell and Dr. Kyla Ortved provide valuable insight on the diagnosis, treatment and client communication surrounding equine degenerative joint disease (DJD). They discuss the diagnostic options veterinarians can use to identify the disease. This CE course will help you gain a better appreciation for the overall spectrum of DJD treatment and management, such as rest, intra-muscular injections, intra-articular injections, corticosteroids, hydrogels, regenerative medicine and surgical options. Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Ortved also provide real case studies which highlight the importance of properly diagnosing and treating DJD in patients, as well as practical tips for effective client communication once a treatment protocol is identified.

Indications
Adequan® i.m. is recommended for the intramuscular treatment of non-infectious degenerative and/or traumatic joint dysfunction and associated lameness of the carpal and hock joints in horses.
