Dr. David Dycus

David L. Dycus, DVM, MS, CCRP, DACVS-SA; Director/Chief of Orthopedic Surgery, Nexus Veterinary Bone & Joint Center; Medical Director, Nexus Veterinary Specialists, Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. Dycus attended Mississippi State University for his veterinary degree, Auburn University for a small animal rotating internship, and Mississippi State for a combined surgical residency and Master’s degree.

Dr. Dycus has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally with 200+ CE lectures and taught 125+ laboratories. He is co-editor of the textbook: “Complications in CCCL Surgery”. Dr. Dycus is a laboratory instructor for the CBLO, TPLO, extra-capsular stabilization, medial patella luxation, angular limb deformity, and fracture repair. He is on faculty for AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen), and he is an orthopedic consultant for VIN (Veterinary Information Network).

As a scientific reviewer for multiple journals, he also serves on the editorial review board and is the associate editor (orthopedics) for Veterinary Surgery, the official publication of the American and European College of Veterinary Surgeons. Currently, he is a council member for the Association for Veterinary Orthopedic Research and Education.

Dr. Dycus became a certified canine rehabilitation practitioner through the University of Tennessee. He is the co-founder and co-director of the Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Institute.

Dr. Denis J. Marcellin-Little

Denis J. Marcellin-Little, DEDV, DACVS, DECVS, DACVSMR, Professor, Orthopedic Surgery, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Davis, California.

Dr. Marcellin-Little is a French-born veterinarian who graduated from the veterinary college of Toulouse, France. Dr. Marcellin-Little is a Diplomate of the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Surgeons and Charter Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. He has been professor of veterinary orthopedic surgery since 2010. Previously at North Carolina State University and now at the University of California, Davis, Dr. Marcellin-Little has published approximately 120 peer-reviewed research projects in the fields of joint replacement, circular external fixation, and bioengineering.

Dr. Marcellin-Little has specific knowledge of animal physical therapy and rehabilitation. He is an adjunct clinical faculty member of the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He is actively involved in teaching and investigating this emerging field and is very interested in applying evidence-based medicine principles to the management of chronic orthopedic problems.

Dr. Whit Cothern

Whit Cothern, DVM, former owner of Orchard Park Animal Hospital, White House, Tennessee.

Dr. Whit Cothern earned his DVM from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. He started as an associate veterinarian at a mixed animal practice in Middle Tennessee. In 2000, he became medical director at a South Florida VCA small animal practice, which further sparked an interest in practice management.

Four years later, he transitioned to a career in industry, with various roles including technical services veterinarian, sales management, and marketing. Besides VCA, he has worked for scil Animal Care Company, Novartis Animal Health, Merial, and Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health.

In early 2018, he left the industry to become co-owner and managing partner of Orchard Park Animal Hospital near Nashville, Tennessee. Most recently his practice joined the Mission Veterinary Partners group of hospitals.
